Thank you Apple
There is nothing I hate more than poor customer service, which is one of the reasons I considered running into Dell’s headquarters with a lil’ somethin-somethin strapped to my chest, but instead chose to buy a Mac. Best move I ever made. I’ve had my iMac about 8 months and I couldn’t be happier (or so I thought). Today I went to the Apple store to purchase a mini-DVI to VGA Adapter and as always, the store was packed, but thankfully Apple has their stores chock full of employees ready to help. After an employee was kind enough to run in back and look for the adapter for me, I got in line to make my purchase. Last in a line of 10 people, I realize that I might be waiting a while and I begin to get annoyed. Within 10 seconds I make eye contact with a female employee who proceeds to walk up to me and ask if everything is all right. I tell her everything is great, but it would be even better if I could just pay and get out of here, thinking maybe she will open up a register for me. She does one better. She asks if I am paying cash or card (I used a card) and she quickly pulled out a hand held device, swiped the adapter and then my card. What about my receipt, I asked. No problem, I will email your receipt to you. I was astonished! Within 30 seconds I had paid, she walked me to the front of the store, grabbed a bag for me, and I was on my way. I was so damn happy with the customer service/experience that I was wishing everyone I saw a good day, tossing smiles left and right. Sure enough, when I got home, I had an email with my receipt. Now I ask you, why can’t everyone aspire to be this good? Do people/companies just not care? Is everyone except Apple apathetic to the customer experience? I am going to start a business that revolves solely around great customer service. That’s it…no product, just great customer service.
welcome to the cult of apple my friend. the other company that gets it - google. read my old post on their enjoyable customer service.
