Boston Globe Axing Hundreds, Raising Price - Silicon Alley Insider
The speed of innovation on the web is astounding. In less than 10 years, both the music industry and the newspaper industry have been literally decimated by the web. But the truth is that record labels and newspaper publishers tried so long to deny and/or resist change for so long that they literally dug their own grave.
What other industries are in for a big change? Magazines is an obvious one (interestingly Alana, who runs the print ad sales group of a magazine, is in denial about this). The movie industry is also obvious. The changes will snowball once internet connection speeds increase (cant wait for FIOS).
What industries do you see that are resisting change instead of embracing it?
