Windows Errors Part 1

Today I tried to uninstall a Symantec product using the add/remove tool supplied by windows XP.  Right before it finished, I got a pop up message that said a “Fatal Error” occurred during installation. The uninstallation then continued as if nothing happened.  I have no idea what this error means - my only clue is the word fatal.

According to dictionary.com, the most common definition of fatal is “capable of causing death, misfortune or ruin”.  That sounds pretty bad.  Does this mean my computer is going to die or be ruined?  If not, perhaps fatal isn’t the best adjective to use.

In the now infamous words of jmarcafella - “Fuck You Too, Microsoft.”
