Kany West - The Good Life
Music videos are such an incredible medium for artists to express themselves. I love this music video and think that Kanye, in general, pushes the envelope with all of his endeavors. Its a shame that MTV has moved away from music videos to focus entirely on scripted “reality” shows. The real losers in that shift was you and I. What’s encouraging is that sites like YouTube provide a new means of distribution for music videos that have the potential to be infinitely more powerful than MTV ever was. Unfortunately, I don’t understand enough about the economics of music videos to say if mere distribution potential is enough for artists to continue to create music videos.
