Congratulations to my good friend Eran Chen on the success of his new architectural firm ODA. I had the pleasure of working with Eran on the Jade and I can say without hesitation that he not only a supremely talented architect but also a genuinely good guy.
His latest masterpiece? 15 USW (Union Square West) which was featured on the cover of todays NY Post Real Estate Pull Out.
For the first time ever I finished in the top 10 for my NCAA pool. You have to understand that I usually finish in the bottom 10 because I never watch college ball until the tournament starts.

I have been partial to ordering books online through amazon for as long as i can remember. This year, however, i made the switch on some purchases to barnes and noble. there are 2 reasons
1. barnes and noble has same day delivery for orders in manhattan
2. i get triple points on my amex by ordering my books through the american express bonus mall. if you havent started using the amex bonus mall for online purchases you really should check it out.
As I type I am watching the end of the Kansas vs. Davidson NCAA game on www.ncaasports.com and its totally blowing my mind. The video rarely skips and the feed is totally live. The picture and sound are fantastic.
Why do I feel like verizon fios and other super high speed connections will be the ultimate game changer for online video?
Ive written before that email is a tool that hinders productivity for many and that we are all desperate for new forms of communication. Last weekend my friends and added each otehr as friends on blackberry messenger and since then there has been a dramatic change in how often we communicate.
we talk more (over IM) and use it more freely that texting because its totally free. this was especially helpful when we were in montreal because our phones were roaming at the time. luckily bberry messenger pings are not afftected by roaming.
I think this ranks as bonehead move of the century.
